Every one must allow that a judgement on the beautiful which is tinged with the slightest interest, is very partial and not a pure judgement of taste.

But all contradiction disappears if I say: the judgement of taste is based on a concept; from which, however, nothing can be known and proved in respect of the object, because it is in itself undeterminable and useless for knowledge.
